AgroEscudo
A Bolivian AgriTech venture focused on visibility into agricultural storage conditions through sensors, connectivity and digital monitoring.

AgroEscudo addresses the need to observe storage conditions before losses become visible. The project combines a team’s technical development with product leadership and sector engagement.
01CHAPTER
The challenge
Problem
Storage operators need timely information on conditions that can affect grain quality. The venture focuses on monitoring and operational decisions rather than replacing the operator’s expertise.
Context
La Razón documents the initiative’s UMSS hackathon origin and MVP stage in May 2026. Later coverage describes the Climatech program and a pilot estimate reported by the team.
Objectives
Turn sensor readings into useful records, alerts and a history of actions that can support storage decisions.
02CHAPTER
The insight
The insight
A reading is most useful when it can be connected to a location, a trend and an operator’s response. That framing connects the hardware and the monitoring interface.
03CHAPTER
The solution
Proposed solution
The current website presents sensors, local LoRa connectivity, a gateway and a digital platform for alerts, history and reporting. Exact installation details depend on each site.
04CHAPTER
The engineering
Technical architecture
The public architecture is a system-level concept: sensing → local transmission → gateway → API → monitoring → action. It is not an as-built diagram or an individual authorship record. The CV names SiloSensor and CampoSensor as team developments.

05CHAPTER
The development journey
Development process
The documented journey spans prototype development, reported test activities, incubation and sector presentations. The team photograph and platform screenshot provide distinct evidence of participation and product presentation.
Prototypes & demonstrations
The CV reports activities at Granja Vida Linda, CIF-UMSS and Agronomy facilities. These are declared experiences; calibration records, dates and third-party reports were not provided.
06CHAPTER
Validation & evidence
Validation & methodology
Portal Verde attributes pilot estimates to the startup. Those statements do not establish causal loss reduction or an independently audited economic benefit.
Documented results
FEPC records first place in the AI applications category of KAMAY 2026. Separately, Portal Verde reports team estimates involving 184 tonnes, 4.6 tonnes of avoided losses and more than Bs 9,000; these remain pending independent validation.

07CHAPTER
My contribution
Individual contribution
Founder leadership, team coordination, product direction and project presentation. The CV describes work with a team; ownership of every hardware, firmware or software component is not assigned to me individually.
08CHAPTER
Lessons & next steps
Limitations
The available material does not establish sensor accuracy, signed client contracts, recurring revenue, patents or independently validated savings. Platform images use demonstration data.
Lessons & next steps
Field context and documentation matter as much as the prototype. Participation, awards and a technical claim need different kinds of evidence.
Next steps
Document test conditions, calibrations, measurement continuity and operator actions, then publish a traceable pilot report with permission from the responsible site.
