CASE STUDYDigital health / Artificial intelligence
DOCIA
A Bolivian digital health venture connecting patients, families and care teams. My role centers on entrepreneurial leadership and product direction.

DOCIA brings together a health technology proposal and a multidisciplinary team. Public sources document its entrepreneurship journey; product claims are distinguished from clinical evidence.
01CHAPTER
The challenge
Problem
The founding interviews describe fragmented access to care and information. This is the problem framing behind the venture, rather than a measured outcome of the platform.
Context
The 2025 university proposal and the current corporate website describe different stages. Historical references to vital-sign devices and prediagnosis are not automatically treated as current features.
Objectives
Connect the care journey and make the product proposal understandable to patients, professionals and institutions.
02CHAPTER
The insight
The insight
The venture combines a technical proposal with the need to coordinate people and information. Public product material emphasizes family support and distinct professional roles.
03CHAPTER
The solution
Proposed solution
The corporate website presents telemedicine, digital records, family support and professional and institutional tools. These are described capabilities; this portfolio does not certify their implementation status or medical effectiveness.
04CHAPTER
The engineering
Technical architecture
Software architecture and platform engineering are assigned publicly to the CTO, and AI direction to the CAIO. My entrepreneurial role is separate. A reviewed architecture document is still needed before attributing implementation details.

The development journey
Development process
Institutional sources document the 2025 competition and incubation stage. The current corporate site adds a broader presentation of modules and team responsibilities.
Prototypes & demonstrations
The gallery contains an interface image from the corporate site. It is presented as product material, not as a record of active patients or deployed institutions.
06CHAPTER
Validation & evidence
Validation & methodology
Entrepreneurship recognition and a working demonstration are distinct from clinical validation. No independent clinical evaluation, diagnostic accuracy study or adoption dataset was supplied for this portfolio.
Documented results
The team won ElevateU 2025 and was selected by Incuba Unión Tecnológico. Banco Unión reports a Bs 48,000 allocation for DOCIA.

My contribution
Individual contribution
Entrepreneurial vision, product direction, team coordination and communication within the innovation ecosystem. Software engineering, AI, finance, growth and medical relationships are credited to their respective team roles.
08CHAPTER
Lessons & next steps
Limitations
Public descriptions and historical interviews do not establish current service availability, medical safety, clinical outcomes or audited user numbers.
Lessons & next steps
A clear product story requires equally clear authorship and evidence. Recognition can support a venture’s trajectory without establishing clinical performance.
Next steps
Document module status, individual technical contributions and an appropriate validation plan with the responsible clinical and engineering professionals.
